Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil from Rosita Real Foods
Rosita Real Foods™ Artisan Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil (EVCLO), as its full name reads, is very likely the rarest and most authentic cod liver oil in the world. The cod liver oil is extracted according to ancient principles through a patented extraction process that uses no heat, chemicals or mechanical pressure. The cod is caught sustainably in Norway and the livers are strictly controlled and processed fresh. EVCLO is not fermented, which makes the product suitable for children and pregnant women. The light golden color and mild fish flavor of the liquid underscore the freshness and high quality of this high-quality cod liver oil. The vitamins, fish fatty acids and other nutrients are naturally balanced with each other in this product to help you optimally support your health!
The power of cod liver oil
Cod liver oil is back. And that's a good thing! Because although cod liver oil is sometimes still linked to the foul taste that this goodie often had in the 50s, and there is still conflicting advice floating around the Internet about the pros and cons of taking in lots of vitamin A, fortunately there are more and more people rediscovering the power of cod liver oil (and the power of vitamin A).
Rosita's high-quality cod liver oil is particularly rich in vitamins A and D, iodine, phosphorus, omega-4, 6, 7, 9, 11 fatty acids and omega-3 fatty acids such as EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). Vitamin A plays a role in the cell specialization process, helps normal vision, is important for the skin, is good for mucous membranes and, like vitamin D, helps the immune system.
Vitamin D is also good for children's calcium balance and skeleton, helps in the cell division process and is important for teeth and muscles. Iodine supports normal growth in children, supports energy metabolism and the thyroid gland, is good for concentration and the nervous system and is important for the skin. Phosphorus also supports children's teeth and bones and promotes energy metabolism. Together, the fish fatty acids DHA and EPA are good for blood pressure, heart, brain and vision.
Cod liver oil, an ancient remedy
Some will remember well from their youth the taste of a spoonful of cod liver oil. Many children from the 1950s were given this oil, extracted from the livers of fish such as cod and halibut, to support their resistance and prevent English disease (bone deformity). However, when vitamin D was mandatorily added to products such as margarine and low-fat margarine since the Margarine Decree of 1961, cod liver oil faded somewhat into the background and fish oil, which is rich in fish fatty acids but does not contain vitamins A and D, became popular, among other things. Still, more and more doctors and health experts are saying that that cod liver oil of yesteryear was not so crazy.
So cod liver oil is on the rise again! Fortunately, the taste is not that bad. High quality cod liver oil today is a colorless or light yellow oil with a slightly fishy taste and smell. By the way, many people confuse cod liver oil with whale oil, the oil that was used from the 17th century until well into the 19th century as lamp oil and which was produced from the fatty tissue of whales.

Cod liver oil versus fish oil
Cod liver oil is a form of fish oil, but fish oil is not the same as cod liver oil. What exactly are the differences between the two? Fish oil is a broader term and is especially popular due to the fact that fish oil is a rich source of the omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA. Cod liver oil therefore contains these fish fatty acids, but is also rich in vitamins A and D and other important nutrients, such as phosphorus and iodine. In fact, cod liver oil is the richest and most natural form of fish oil. This is because the oil is not refined and is extracted only from the livers of fish such as cod, haddock and halibut.
In contrast, with regular fish oil, the entire fish is pressed, then the oil is extracted, purified and often fortified with vitamins. Cod liver oil in its purest form is colorless or pale yellow and has an odor of fresh or smoked fish. Because cod liver oil is rich in vitamin D, it is often given to children due to the fact that vitamin D is important for teeth, good for children's skeleton and helps the immune system. Vitamin A in cod liver oil also supports the immune system and the vitamin is further good for vision, for the skin and it plays a role in the cell specialization process.
Cod liver oil of the highest quality
Rosita Real Foods is committed to creating handcrafted products made in harmony with nature. The brand's oils are a sustainable and natural source of essential fatty acids and are of the highest quality. For example, Rosita Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil (EVCLO) is world renowned as one of the richest cod liver oil products available. The oil is made exclusively from wild cod responsibly and sustainably harvested from the pristine waters of Norway.
A unique, artisanal, cold process patented by Rosita extracts the oil from the fish and preserves the refined nutrients naturally present in the livers of wild-caught cod. The result is an oil that is as pure and authentic as the cod liver oil handcrafted and used by our Norwegian ancestors hundreds of years ago. Not for nothing is Rosita Real Foods the only company that has received permission from "The Norwegian Institute of Food, Fisheries and Aquaculture research" to use the title "extra virgin" for its products.
All Rosita Real Foods products are independently tested for purity and nutrient values, and the concentration of fat-soluble nutrients may vary as it depends on various natural factors.

Take one-half to one teaspoon daily. Shake before use. For maximum and long-lasting freshness, it is advisable to store EVCLO in the freezer until you want to use the oil. After opening, refrigeration is sufficient. The oil remains in excellent condition for more than 3 months after opening.
Please note that after opening, the cod liver oil may thicken and become cloudy in the refrigerator. This is a normal occurrence and does not affect the quality of EVCLO. This product is kept in frozen condition in our store until shipped.
