MitoQ® Joint - Mitoquinol Mesylate
MitoQ is a revolutionary CoQ10 supplement with the patented Mitoquinol Mesylate as the main ingredient. Mitoquinol Mesylate was developed by MitoQ® based on years of research and is a shortened and positively charged version of coenzyme Q10. In this product this substance is combined with an oil extract of green-lipped mussel. Much research is being conducted into the health effects of green-lipped mussel. There is some evidence that green-lipped mussel contributes to flexible joints, though more scientific research is needed to prove this effect.
Benefits:
- MitoQ® Joint is optimally developed according to the latest scientific developments
- Contains the patented Mitoquinol Mesylate, a revolutionary variant of coenzyme Q10
- MitoQ® has been conducting research on CoQ10 for the composition of its products for many years
- MitoQ® Joint does not need to be taken during meals
- MitoQ® Joint is the only product in the world that combines mitoquinol mesylate with the power of green-lipped mussel extract from New Zealand
What is Coenzyme Q10?
Coenzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like substance naturally in occurring all of our cells. The letter 'Q' stands for 'ubiquitous'. The term is apt, as Q10 really is everywhere: from our hair to our toenails. The substance was first discovered in 1957 by Dr. Frederick Crane , who isolated it from bovine heart mitochondria. Organs and tissues that consume a lot of energy, such as the heart, pancreas, liver, kidneys, immune system, nervous system and muscles, have a higher coenzyme Q10 content. A good source of Q10 is organ meats, especially liver, kidneys and thymus. Whole grain cereals, poultry, peanuts, tree nuts, spinach, broccoli, and fatty fish also contain small amounts of this coenzyme.
About Mitoquinol Mesylate
The unique component of MitoQ® is the acclaimed Mitoquinol Mesylate: a shortened and positively charged version of CoQ10. This Q10 variant is the result of the addition of a fat-soluble (lipophilic) cation - tetraphenylphosphonium - to the molecular structure of CoQ10. This renders the product unique: the coupling of CoQ10 with a positively charged ion allows it to cross cell membranes. This is a patented technique that combines the reduced, active form of Coq10, called ubiquinol, with the tetraphenylphosphonium group. The result is now known worldwide as MitoQ, the brand name of Mitoquinol Mesylate.
Green-lipped mussel extract and MitoQ
Of sea products more and more unique properties are being discovered every day. One research frontier is the green-lipped mussel. MitoQ® Joint is the only product worldwide to combine mitoquinol, the third generation of the patented coenzyme Q10, with an oil extract of green-lipped mussel. The purified and concentrated fatty acids from green-lipped mussel are extracted from New Zealand mussels (Perna Canaliculus) via a careful production process.
History of green-lipped mussel
New Zealand’s Maori natives have consumed green-lipped mussels as a standard food source for hundreds, likely thousands, of years. They themselves claim that it has always been the key to their good health. In 1960, Western researchers discovered the green-lipped mussel during large-scale searches for natural sea-born molecules. Since then, the physiological properties of the green-lipped mussel have been extensively mapped, indeed of all natural components present in green-lipped mussel extracts.
About MitoQ®
MitoQ® is a small, passionate team operating all over the world out of New Zealand, involved in the development and distribution of MitoQ®. Patented by the company, this molecule features a unique adaptation developed according to the latest scientific insights and capable of delivering the most active form of coenzyme Q10. MitoQ, or mitoquinol, was discovered by scientists while looking for substances that affect mitochondria. More than a decade, $50 million in research and 200 publications onward, this proprietary supplement is now available to everyone. In addition to the various MitoQ formulations in capsule form, MitoQ also offers a series of creams.
