Emu Oil by Walkabout
Discover the power of emu oil with this unique Emu Oil in capsule form by Walkabout. The natural oil is extracted from the fat reserves on the back of the emu, an ostrich-like bird native to Australia. The oil has been used by Aborigines for centuries, indeed likely millennia, because of the special properties attributed to this rich oil. Emu oil contains natural concentrations of the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, K2 (MK4) and E, and is rich in omega fatty acids 3, 6, 7 and 9, as well as in antioxidants. Walkabout’s Emu Oil is characterized by a pure, concentrated composition free from other ingredients and additives.
The special composition of emu oil
Emu oil is characterized by a unique and rich composition of various healthy fats, vitamins and antioxidants. It is not without reason that the oil has been used throughout recorded history in the traditional medicine of the Aborigines. In recent decades the oil has made a worldwide advance as a skin care beauty product but today is increasingly known for various additional properties. The combination of omega 3, 6, 7 and 9 fatty acids explains the oil’s unique effects. For example, the omega fatty acids oleic acid, alpha-linolenic acid and linoleic acid are proven benefits for cholesterol level control. Emu oil is also rich in vitamins A, D, E and K2. Vitamin A nourishes the skin, benefits eyesight and supports the immune system, and vitamin E helps protect healthy body cells. Vitamin K supports blood clotting and the bones while vitamin D is important for calcium levels in the blood, benefits skeletal maintenance, the muscles and the cell division process, and supports the immune system.
Nature at its purest
Walkabout Emu Oil is of superior quality. The oil derives directly from emus of pure genetic pedigree kept with great care and attention. Nothing is added to or removed from the oil. This natural product is processed as little as possible and is free of hormones, allergens, antibiotics and other chemicals. Due to due attention to quality, the oil is also characterized by a high biological activity and has the same pure composition as the oil of wild emus used traditionally by Australian Aborigines.

The healthy ancestral diet
Emu oil is a source of vitamin K2 (MK4), an important nutrient abundantly present in the diet of our ancestors. In 1930 nutrition pioneer Dr. Weston A. Price traveled the world to study the dietary habits of traditional peoples. He was impressed by the outstanding physical and mental health of the Aboriginal people of Australia. He found that they were generally free from chronic illness, strong in body and mind, and had healthy children. Dr. Price found that traditional (Aboriginal) diets tended to be rich in micronutrients and contained at least ten times the fat-soluble vitamins compared to the typical American diet of his time. Aborigines particularly valued the fat of marsupials and emus.
With care and knowledge held
The emu, like the ostrich, belongs to the order of the ratites and is the largest native bird in Australia. Emus are smaller and lighter in size than ostriches and can run up to 50 kilometers per hour. They have a thick layer of fat reserves on their back packed with nutrients and allowing them to survive in the wild for prolonged periods of time without water or food. Walkabout only works with Australian emu farms that have done a lot of research on emus in their natural environment. This allows them to provide the animals with the care they require: provide them with the correct nutrition as well as with an overall favorable living environment. The emus can roam freely on the farms in large pastures and are kept naturally. This means, among other things, no use of vaccines, antibiotics, growth hormones, pesticides or other chemicals. The emu farmers learned a age-old tradition of refining the emu oil straight from an Aboriginal elder, preserving the natural synergy, purity and composition of the oil.
About Walkabout
In 2009, Elizabeth Schlinsog together with her husband Dr. Will Schlinsog began their research on emu oil. When they discovered that emu oil offered in the United States was often highly processed and refined, they decided to start producing the oil themselves. In collaboration with specialist farmers in Australia, they now offer superior emu oil that is unadulterated and effective, packed with nutrients such as vitamin K2 (MK4) and omega fatty acids, and is characterized by the highest biological activity. It has become the core mission of their brand Walkabout to inform people about the special properties and benefits of high-quality, natural emu oil and to help people achieve enhanced quality of life through food.
